NBI Assistant Director Atty. Medardo de Lemos has announced that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has the ability to trace where and when the explicit video of slain actor Ramgen Bautista and Janelle Manahan was first uploaded and is confident that the perpetrator will be put to justice.
While De Lemos refused to disclose how the trace will be conducted, he cites that a past case where the identity of an anonymous e-mail sender was determined.
“Mayroon tayong proseso at paraan kung paano natin malalaman at matutukoy kung sino ang nag-upload [ng video]. Hindi na lang namin sasabihin sa publiko kung paano ito ginagawa ng computer crimes unit,” de Lemos said in an interview with dzMM.
The video, with a file named janelle-ramgen-sex-video-scandal.wmv, shows Ramgen and Janelle having sexual intercourse in a bathroom.
Janelle Manahan is accusing the Bautista household of uploading the video themselves. According to her lawyers, this is harassment after the slain actor’s girlfriend testified against principal accused and Ramgen’s siblings Ramona and RJ.
In the defense of the Bautista’s, Ramgen’s mother Genelyn admitted that she has possession of the laptop that could contain the file but insists that no one but Ramgen has access to it.
If implicated, the uploader of the video could find himself facing a case filed under the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009.
